Embracing Creativity to Protect Wildlife: LG’s 2025 Wonderbox Showcase

February 19, 2025 By admin Leave a Comment

LG Electronics USA has unveiled an inspiring opportunity for emerging digital artists with the announcement of the annual Wonderbox Showcase, a cutting-edge 3D digital art competition aimed at college-level students. This year’s challenge, themed “Life’s Good When You Protect Wildlife,” invites creative minds to design original 3D anamorphic art that not only pushes the boundaries of digital expression but also raises awareness about the endangered and vulnerable species that call North and South America home. The contest, closely aligned with LG’s influential partnerships—both with The Americas, a nature documentary series on NBC and Peacock that highlights wildlife conservation, and the National Wildlife Federation—encourages participants to explore the intricate beauty and critical importance of these species within their natural habitats. The competition presents an exciting platform for students to channel their technical prowess and storytelling ability into immersive digital worlds that capture moments of wonder and highlight the urgent need for environmental protection, all while setting the stage for future careers in the arts and digital media.

The Wonderbox Showcase, now in its third year, continues to build on its reputation for transforming innovative art into a vehicle for change by offering significant prizes, including a $25,000 cash award for first place, $10,000 for second, and $5,000 for third, along with top-of-the-line equipment such as LG’s CineBeam Q 4K UHD Projector. Submissions will be carefully evaluated by a panel of renowned industry experts—featuring celebrated creatives, filmmakers, and conservationists like Mike Gunton, Holly Spearing, and Carey Stanton—who will assess each piece for its creative storytelling, technical skill, scientific accuracy, and heartfelt message. This multifaceted judging process not only underscores the competition’s commitment to excellence but also provides an invaluable mentorship opportunity as winners engage in conversations with creators behind The Americas series and esteemed wildlife experts. With the submission window open from February 12 through May 12, 2025, students are encouraged to visit www.lg.com/us/wonderbox to review the entry guidelines and seize the chance to have their visionary art displayed on one of the most prominent digital canvases in the world—the LG Times Square billboard in New York City—thus ensuring that their work inspires a broader dialogue about conservation and environmental sustainability.
