How digital transformation affects museums?

June 26, 2022 By admin Leave a Comment

A rising tide is turning for museum digital transformation, according to a recent survey of museum IT professionals and board directors. The results show an even split between those who have adopted an enterprise-wide digital strategy, and those who have started with a more targeted approach.

But museum professionals remain divided on how ready they are for digital transformation. Over half of those surveyed said that their organizations were not ready for digital transformation; one-third said that their organizations were “extremely ready” to apply the benefits of digital transformation.

Seventy-one percent said that digital transformation was important, and 53 percent said that digital transformation is “critical.” The survey polled 35 IT decision makers at museums in 12 countries.
